Why Use Poles?

Utilising Nordic Walkng poles for any walks or hikes are immensely beneficial. Poles:

  • Provide stability over uneven surfaces
  • Take weight off the lower body
  • Assist with ascents – transfers power from the upper body to propel oneself forward
  • Assist with descents – reduces load on knees and thigh muscles
  • Recruits the whole body into your walking – thus reducing leg fatigue


Which Poles?

The poles we recommend are Nordic Walking poles as they provide ergonomically-designed hand straps which the hand slips into (and thus negates the need to actively ‘hold’ the pole grip for hours on end).
